One of the issues that discourage tea drinkers from brewing green
is that they don't know how to simply and easily prepare a cup for themselves that is reliably good tasting. You really have to
think of it as a different drink from black tea, chai, or herbal infusions. You need different equipment and a different approach. Get yourself
a unglazed teapot made from yixing clay. You can use an 8 ounce pot or a 16 or 24 ounce or any size pot.
If possible you want fresh tea and fresh water. Forget about boiling the water. The water should be agreeably hot: when the bubbles start rising.
Take a small bunch of leaves from your canister and place in your pot.
If you are using an
8 oz. pot, three bunches of leaves will do.
Next, fill your pot with water.
Since you've put a fair amount of tea in the pot, you will only need to steep for about 2 minutes. Pour your tea into
cups.

You also need a small pitcher to put excess tea into, as it will
oversteep if kept in the pot.
When the tea drinkers have finished their first
cup of tea, pour more from the pitcher.
In the meantime pour more hot
water into your pot of leaves and follow the routine described above except you will need to steep the leaves longer (3 - 5 minutes) on the second and third times.
You can also introduce more leaves if needed. It's a no fail process when you get it down.
