There are some important considerations when choosing a pot: Shape and Substance - Look for a pot that holds and circulates the heat of the hot water. You can find that in a stoneware or an earthenware pot rounded in shape. Stoneware is a dense compound of clay, silica and feldspar fired at high heat and glazed. Earthenware is a dense baked clay, also sealed with a glaze.
Size - is another consideration. Individual pots are usually 12 to 16 oz, although real tea drinkers see the 4 cup pot as perfect for one person. For a crowd, the 39 oz. pot is a good choice.
