Recently I took a little reviving trip to Washington, D.C. One morning I set out from my great little hotel (Washington Club Quarters) for Dupont Circle where an examination of the phonebook suggested I would find an establishment called Teaism. I figured what could I lose, I really needed a cup of tea.

Sure enough, Teaism is indeed a teashop/eatery, very trendy, bustling with food, brewing accessories, and great loose tea. You place your order, peruse the tea things for sale and pick up your food on the first floor. Then you can take your food and tea upstairs to eat. You get a good pot of tea which is what realy matters. By the way it was served in a two cup Serenity teapot which are shaped like the four cup pot we sell. Same no-drip spout! It's the perfect place to visit in Dupont Circle, located at 2009 R Street NW. Also took a great walking tour of diplomatic neighborhoods and visited the Phillips Art Collection. Nice little touristy things to do.

Also visited a very different upscale Teaism right near my hotel on Lafayette Park. Address is 800 Connecticut Ave.NW. - entrance is on H Street. Open for breakfast, lunch and afternoon tea. Very attractive and comfortable.
